| | As we have grown our work with young people over recent years, we have
developed a range of products suitable for various age groups and settings.
As ever, our aim in all our work is for participants to increase their
self-esteem, willingness to take creative risks and confidence to learn.
- The Notivate Singer/Songwriter Programme
-
This is a song/rap writing and recording project for small groups of young
people. The participants attend on-site workshops to prepare their compositions, followed by a one-day
recording session at a professional studio. Each participant
receives a copy of a CD containing their work. This
model is the result of three years' work with over 300 young people
from a wide variety of social backgrounds in schools and youth centres.
(In the Summer 2008 we met our 1,000th participant!) Emphasis is placed upon the individual participant and
therefore each occurrence is flexible and distinct. We work in
close partnership with the host organisation to ensure that every
opportunity is given for all concerned to benefit from the project,
through understanding of circumstances and close communication with
all stakeholders.
- Waves & Raves
-
This course provides an introduction to music technology, coving
the following topics: Mics, Mixers and Midi; Soundwaves, Synthesis and Sampling;
DJs, Dancing and Drum Loops.
-
As with most of our products, the delivery of this course is
tailored to fit the requirements of each particular
setting. For example, in school, the course is normally run on-site and comes in six 1-hour modules, including Listening,
Appraising, Composing and Performing.
-
We also operate a two-tier public course from our Studio
@ The Stables, in Milton Keynes, which includes two one-day
experiences. Admission includes a resource pack with a copy of a
CD that participants produce during the day.
- Sonic Gym
- Inspired by Reggio
Emilia, this is a musical environment developed for children , in
which they are encouraged to experience, experiment, explore
and express. We have designed a space that includes a
range of musical instruments, technology and activities - with the
emphasis on process, not product.
-
- MusiColour
- This is a one-day workshop for primary schools, in which
participants are encouraged to compose, perform and record an original
piece of music, inspired by van Gogh's "The Starry Night"
- Chops
- This short course is designed for instrumentalists
and singers of all ages, as an introduction to Jazz Improvisation.
Pricing
Due to the flexible nature of our products and the variety of settings in
which we work, the price is dependant upon the nature and requirements of
each group. As we believe whole-heartedly in the positive impact of our programmes and do
not wish financial concerns to prevent potential beneficiaries from
participating, we have direct and in-direct links with various charitable
organisations, who may be able to help in providing the necessary funds.
